Trainers and Venues

Sue Edwards

As a competitor :- I competed internationally in Eventing, Show Jumping and Dressage.

As a trainer of horses :- I have helped thousands of horses to be calm, happy partners for their riders in all disciplines at all levels.

I have specialised in ‘problem horses’ and indeed all my top horses were gifted to me with the labels of ‘unrideable’ and ‘dangerous’ (including the horse pictured above)..

As a coach:- I am a British Eventing Coach and experienced in coaching riders in dressage, show jumping and eventing from grassroots to advanced.

I am very happy to work with riders at any level of experience and get as much satisfaction from helping riders  to achieve a happier more harmonious partnership at the most basic level as I do from helping riders achieve their competitive goals.

You can never be ‘not good enough for a lesson’!

Peter Morris

Coming from a non-horsey family, I was lucky to hunt, event and show-jump as a child, later schooling novice and problem ponies for others too - Happy days!

I started my working life instructing and running one of only two BHS approved riding schools in Chester for two years.  I then relocated to Italy and competed young novice horses for an Argentinian Olympic rider before being given the rides on some of the "good ones".  On my return to the UK, I set up my own yard in Cheshire coaching, selling and producing jumpers, eventers, hunters and training pointers and polo ponies.

I have been privileged to work and train with some amazing mentors over the years and I still enjoy coaching at all levels as much as ever.  My focus within the club is inspiring confidence of horse and rider through gymnastic, grid and pole work, combined with related flat work in a safe, fun environment.

At the sessions end, I want to see happy jockeys and calm, relaxed horses - Result!!!!

Elliott Smith - Showjumper

Kentisbeare House Outdoor Arena

A privately owned outdoor school which the club are very lucky to have the use of.

Ideally situated just off the A373 Honiton to Cullompton Road, the school has enough parking to accommodate each training session with the full use of show jumps and lights for those darker evening sessions.
